We had an amazing time enjoying the natural pools and small waterfalls. The organized trips were fantastic, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the local area, truly enhancing our experience. Plus, we were thrilled they welcomed our dog!
My children wished for more kid-friendly meal options.

What an amazing getaway! Relaxing in the garden area and soaking up the sun on the loungers was just what we needed. Just keep in mind the remote location, it made dining a bit limited. 🏞️

A hidden paradise! The setting is enchanting, surrounded by lush jungle and a mesmerizing waterfall. The staff went above and beyond, providing fantastic service and always with a smile. I loved enjoying breakfast while soaking in the views. Being able to lounge in hammocks and enjoy tranquil moments was a treat.
The last stretch of road to get there was rough, and the menu felt a bit limited for long stays. it would be awesome if they offered more variety.

Delightful stay in a serene setting, where the sounds of rushing water filled our Waterfall View Room with Queen. The staff truly excelled in providing a warm atmosphere, making us feel like family, and the freshly prepared eggs for breakfast were a highlight. However, the remote location limited dining options over our six-night stay, and the excursions could be pricey compared to alternatives. The lack of air conditioning meant that humid nights were challenging despite the provided fans.

Loved the hiking trails and the massages. Humidity made clothes wet all the time.

The main building is a visual delight, blending charm with nature. The wooden floors and decorative wall hangings made me feel at home, while numerous hammocks provided the perfect relaxing spot for a cozy afternoon nap.
More accessible options for mobility-challenged guests.

We enjoyed our stay with the family, especially the private tours offered by the hotel. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the local area and culture, which made our trips memorable. The views from the cabana were breathtaking, truly a nature lover's paradise.
In my wife’s opinion, the limited food options could frustrate families. It would be great if they added a variety of kid-friendly meals.

missingWrote a review on May 19stunning waterfallfriendly staffhigh dining costshumidity discomfort
Staying at Gaia River Lodge was a unique experience. The waterfall view from my room was breathtaking. Falling asleep to the sounds of rushing water created a peaceful environment. The individual casitas offered privacy and comfort. The staff, particularly Chris, made every dining experience enjoyable, and I appreciated the personalized service. However, the lack of air conditioning made the humid nights a bit uncomfortable, even with large fans provided. Meals were delicious, but I found the dining prices unexpectedly high, with a substantial amount added for service and taxes. This made dining out a bit challenging, especially given the remoteness of the lodge. The guided excursions to nearby attractions were fantastic, especially canoeing at Barton Creek. Access to the natural beauty surrounding the lodge was easy. The hiking trails brought us closer to nature, which was a highlight. Despite a few snags, like the surprise charges at the restaurant, I'd still recommend Gaia for the stunning scenery and attentive staff.
